Repairs & services

Can my sliding door be repaired instead of replaced?

Usually, yes. If the frame and glass are sound, new rollers, a track repair and an adjustment cost a fraction of a new door wall.

Why is my sliding door so hard to open?

Most of the time the track is packed with dirt or the rollers are worn out. Clean the track first. If it’s still heavy, the rollers need replacing.

What causes a grinding noise when the door moves?

Grinding almost always means worn or broken rollers riding on the metal track. Replace them soon, because they will start wearing down the track too.

My door came off the track. What should I do?

Don’t force it back. Large panels can weigh well over 100 lbs. Leave it closed if you can, keep people away and call us.

Can you repair large multi-panel and pocket sliding doors?

Yes. Many Windermere homes have three- and four-panel sliders and pocket doors. Pocket panels have to come out of the wall to reach the rollers, so we bring a two-person crew and protect your floors and finishes.

Do you work on impact-rated sliding glass doors?

Yes. Impact panels are much heavier than standard glass, so we use rollers rated for the weight and take extra care lifting them.

Do you repair sliding screen doors?

Yes. We replace screen door rollers and latches and rescreen torn panels.

Which brands do you work on?

All the common aluminum and vinyl sliding door brands found in Central Florida homes, including older doors from the 1980s and 1990s.

Prices & payment

How much does sliding door repair cost in Windermere?

Prices start at $149 for rollers and tracks, $79 for locks and handles, $99 for leaks and drafts and $299 for glass. Very large or custom panels can cost more, and you always get the price before we start.

Is the estimate really free?

Yes. Coming out to look at your door costs you nothing, even if you decide not to go ahead.

Why might my price be higher than the starting price?

Starting prices are for a standard two-panel door. Oversized panels, three- or four-panel walls, pocket doors and impact or custom glass take more parts and time. We tell you before any work starts.

Do I pay before the work?

No. You pay only after the job is done and you have tested the door.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, check and all major cards.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Every job comes with a 6-month warranty on parts and labor. If something we fixed acts up, we come back.

Windermere homes

Do you work inside gated communities like Isleworth and Keene’s Pointe?

Yes. Add us to your gate list or send us the gate code, and let us know the best time to arrive.

Why does lake wind push water under my slider?

Wind-driven rain gets past worn weatherstripping and clogged weep holes, especially on lake-facing doors. New seals and a door that sits level usually stop it.

Which areas do you serve?

All of Windermere, including Isleworth, Keene's Pointe, Lake Butler Sound, Windermere Downs, Summerport, Butler Bay, plus Winter Garden, Horizon West, Dr. Phillips, Gotha, Ocoee and nearby southwest Orange County.

My newer Horizon West home’s slider already feels heavy. Is that normal?

Not really. On newer homes it’s usually a panel that wasn’t adjusted well when it was installed, or construction debris in the track. It’s often a quick fix.

Can you work around pool screen enclosures and lanais?

Yes. Most of the doors we repair open onto a screened lanai or pool deck. We protect the deck and clean up before we leave.

04

Booking & the visit

How fast can you come out?

We often have appointments the same week, and sometimes the same or next day. Call or text and we’ll give you the earliest time.

How long does a repair take?

Most repairs take one to two hours and are finished in a single visit. Large walls and pocket doors can take longer.

Do I need to be home?

Someone needs to let us in and approve the price. After that, it’s fine if you have to step out.

Can I send a photo first?

Yes, please do. A photo or short video of the door, the track or the broken part helps us bring the right parts.

Can I book a call-back instead of calling?

Yes. Leave your number on the website and pick the exact time that suits you, and we’ll call you then.

DIY & maintenance

How do I clean my sliding door track?

Vacuum out the sand and debris, wipe the rail with a damp cloth, let it dry, then spray a little dry silicone lubricant on the rail.

What lubricant should I use?

A dry silicone spray. Avoid grease and oily sprays, because they collect sand and make the problem worse.

How often should the track be cleaned?

Every month or two for lanai and pool doors, and more often during pollen season or after storms.

How long do sliding door rollers last?

Often 10 to 15 years, less on heavy panels or doors that open onto sand and pool decks. Grinding or a heavy feel means it’s time.

Can I adjust the rollers myself?

Often, yes. Most doors have an adjustment screw at the bottom of each end of the panel. If adjusting doesn’t help, the rollers are worn and need replacing.
